Family Support Worker

Setting: Family Assessment Centre

Location: Worcestershire

Salary: 28000

A values-driven organisation is seeking dedicated Family Support Workers to join a team committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of families and young people.

Role Overview
Family Support Workers play a vital role in supporting parents to meet the physical and emotional needs of their children. Working 12.5-hour shifts across both days and nights, you will observe parent-child interactions and provide sensitive, non-judgemental feedback tailored to each family's unique circumstances. Through encouragement and role modelling, you will help empower parents to build stronger, healthier relationships with their children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, objective records to inform parenting assessments, which may be submitted as evidence to Family Court.
  • Apply a trauma-informed approach using the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) in daily practice.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with families to support meaningful engagement.
  • Signpost families to additional support services related to mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse.

What We're Looking For

  • Passionate individuals with experience working with children and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Applicants from diverse professional backgrounds are welcome - transferable skills are highly valued.
  • Full UK driving licence required.

Shift Pattern

  • 13 shifts over a 4-week period (6 nights / 7 days)
  • Includes alternate weekends
  • Day shifts: 8:00am - 8:30pm | Night shifts: 8:00pm - 8:30am

Salary & Benefits

  • 28,000 annual salary
  • Private health care
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Birthday off
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free parking and electric charging points
  • Access to pool car for family support visits

This is a unique opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation focused not on profit, but on creating a legacy of support for families and young people. If you share these values and are ready to make a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
